I am pleased to be a candidate for Nassau County Legislator for the 6th district. I look forward to serving the communities of Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Malverne, Valley Stream, Hewlett and Woodmere.
I believe it is time for dramatic change in Nassau so we remain competitive in the future.
We have been losing ground to other regions of the country because of our high taxes, our inability to balance the budget, high energy costs, lack of affordable housing and an inefficient transportation network.
At the same time, good paying jobs are disappearing from Nassau, population growth is stagnant and government expenses are outstripping tax revenues.
Nassau also pays far more in taxes to both Albany and Washington than we get back at a time when we need those funds to rebuild and reinforce our infrastructure after Superstorm Sandy to ensure we don't get battered again.
We need bold new leadership in the Nassau County Legislature. I want to be part of the process that creates positive change so our kids can afford to live here, our senior citizens don't have to move out of state and we become a center for innovation.
As the owner of a media consulting company - a former Senior Vice President of a Fortune 500 company - an anchorman and reporter at WABC-7 and WNBC-4 in New York and News 12 Long Island - a financial correspondent and anchor at CNBC and BusinessWeek - now serving as a professor at Molloy College teaching Business Relationship Management, I have the skill set and background to help invigorate the legislature.
If we don't create a new Nassau, we will not be able to maintain a high quality of life for future generations.
THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!
